1. Who we are

This website (botanical.market) is currently run by mingo_plants as an individual; no company has been set up yet, and this policy will be updated when one is. For any questions about this policy or your personal data, email support@botanical.market.

2. What we collect

  • Account data: such as your email address and, if you sign in with a third-party service (such as Google), the name and account ID it provides
  • Data you provide when using our services: such as quote requests, messages between you and a shop, your collection records (including photos; location and other camera data are removed on your device before upload), the handle, name and bio you enter if you choose to go public, contact or shipping details, and feedback you send us, collected only when you use those services
  • Data about you provided by others: such as an email address a team member enters to invite you to their team, one a shop enters in advance so you can use our services, or the price a shop records when it sells to you outside the site
  • Data about other people that you provide: such as the names of buyers you record when selling for a shop. Please provide it only with their consent and only to complete the sale
  • Usage and security records: such as sign-in times and IP addresses, and any action we take on an account that breaks our rules (such as suspending it) along with the reason, used to run the service and prevent abuse
  • Device and notification data: when you turn on notifications on a device, the push address and encryption keys your browser provides; your notification preferences; and the language you use on the site (so notifications reach you in that language)

We do not use passwords, and we never receive your password for any third-party sign-in service.

3. Why we use it

  • To sign you in and verify your identity
  • To provide the services you use (such as quote requests and orders) and contact you about them
  • To notify you about things related to the services you use (in-site notifications, emails to your account's email address, and push notifications you turn on for a device)
  • To improve the site based on the feedback you send us
  • To keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and deal with accounts that break our rules

When you send a quote request or place an order, your email address, name, request details (including notes, and messages and photos between you and the shop), the country or region estimated from your IP address when you send a quote request, and the shipping details you choose for the order (recipient name, mobile number, and pickup store) are shared with the shop that sells the item, so it can quote, ship the item, and contact you about the purchase. When shipping, the shop passes the shipping details to the carrier (such as a convenience store). The shop may use this data only to handle your request and purchase.

If a team member invites you or a shop enters your email address in advance, we use it so that, when you open the invitation or sign in with the same email, you can join the team or see what has been prepared for you. Once you join a team, its other members can see your name and email address, and your actions in the team (such as editing a live sale) are recorded with your name so members can coordinate. When you sell for a shop, the sales results and buyer names you record are shared with that shop so it can settle accounts and ship the items; the shop may use this data only to handle those sales.

Your collection is visible only to you by default. If you choose to make it public, what you publish (the plants, photos and records you choose, plus your handle, name and bio) can be seen by anyone, and you can stop publishing at any time. Plants from a shop record where they came from (which shop and which month), which is shown when public; the price is visible only to you and that shop. The shop that sold a plant can also see what you choose to publish about it.

When you take part in a campaign on the site, what you submit (such as your guesses) is shown publicly; the name shown is your handle only if your collector page is public. If you win a campaign, or qualify for a prize draw (for example, by getting the answer right), your email address and name are shared with the team running the campaign so it can review the participants, contact the winners and send the prizes; the team may use this data only to run the campaign and handle the prizes.

We do not sell your personal data or use it for any other purpose.

4. How long we keep it

Account data is kept until you ask us to delete your account. Other data is kept only as long as needed to provide the service, keep the site secure, or meet legal requirements, and is then deleted.

5. Service providers

We use service providers for website hosting, data storage, sending email, sign-in, and bot protection (such as Cloudflare and Google). They process your data only as needed to provide their services, and the data may be stored outside Taiwan.

Push notifications are delivered through the push service of your browser or operating system provider (such as Apple, Google, Mozilla, or Microsoft). Notification content is encrypted before it is sent, so the push service cannot read it; it only handles what is needed for delivery, such as the push address and the time of sending.

6. Cookies and browser storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, to remember your settings and unsent content on this site, and to recognize the same browser when you take part in a campaign (for example, to count your guesses). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Your rights

You may ask to access, receive a copy of, correct, or delete your personal data, or ask us to stop collecting, processing, or using it. Email support@botanical.market and we will act on your request after confirming your identity.

8. If you don't provide data

You can browse this site without providing any personal data. Without required data such as an email address, you cannot sign in or use the related services.

9. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page. Significant changes will also be announced on the site.
